The vehicle waits

Out in the morning, back at night, same vehicle all day

The vehicle travels with the group, stays through the meeting, game or event, and returns to the origin — one booking, one chauffeur, no deadhead legs you pay for twice.

What this service handles

Any out-of-town day with a fixed start and an uncertain end is an out-and-back charter, not two one-way transfers. Booked as transfers, you pay for two empty legs and have no vehicle in between; booked as a charter, the vehicle waits.

It is the underlying structure of the Notre Dame game day, the regional board meeting, the plant visit, the away game and the client site day. The block is priced in hours, the return is whenever the group is ready, and everything the group does not want to carry stays in the vehicle.

Group sizes run from an SUV to a coach, and larger parties can run several vehicles on one trip with one point of contact.

How VaultPac coordinates it

Every booking is a trip. A trip carries trip services, and each service breaks into the individual movements that actually have to happen — which is why the people and the bags do not have to travel the same way.

  1. Trip
  2. Trip services
  3. Individual movements
  • Passenger movement

Sedan, SUV, Sprinter, minibus and coach movements priced and dispatched by the transportation engine.

  • Ordered stops

A movement can carry intermediate stops in order, so a route with three pickups is one movement rather than three bookings.

  • Trip → Trip Services → Movements

One trip holds every service on it, and each service breaks into the individual movements that have to happen. A single booking can carry people and bags on different vehicles and different clocks without becoming two bookings.

  • Changes during the trip

Times, stops, vehicles and passenger counts can change after a trip has started without rebooking it.

  • Multiple vehicles

Several vehicles on one itinerary, each with its own assignment, timing and passenger list.

  • Dispatch monitoring

Every movement on one board while it runs, so a late arrival is seen rather than reported.

  • Operator assignment

Movements assigned to a specific operator and vehicle, with the assignment visible to dispatch throughout.

  • Oversized & special items

Golf bags, trade-show cases, strollers, production cases and similar items counted on the movement so the right vehicle is assigned.

What runs this movement

Assignment reads the passenger count and the bag count, so the vehicle that arrives fits both. Larger movements run several.

Why VaultPac for this

  • One block instead of two one-way legs with two deadheads inside them.
  • The vehicle is there when the day ends, whenever that is.
  • Coats, cases and everything else stay in the vehicle rather than with the group.
  • Several vehicles stay coordinated on one trip for larger parties.

The operating experience behind VaultPac

Same-day out-and-back charters where the vehicle remained with a group through an event were a proven, recurring pattern in the transportation operation behind VaultPac.

VaultPac was built by transportation operators. Where this site describes earlier work, that work was performed by Chicago Limousine — the transportation operation behind VaultPac — and not by VaultPac itself.

Questions

Is this cheaper than two one-way transfers?

For anything out of town, usually yes — two one-ways price in two empty return legs and leave you without a vehicle in the middle. We will price both if you want the comparison.
